I bet a normal needy family will needs much much more than
that, that amount is a heavily subsidised amount for a single
resident on a non profit welfare organsiation residential.
Currently, my CC is giving out govt transport and other
essential vouchers to needed people, criteria to
qualitfy, u need to earn $1800 and below, or for a family, per
capital is $500 and below.
Therefore, for a singaporean, we can come into a conclusion that
earning $1800 per month is consider at the lower end or so
call the poor peoples.
I am incline to think so too, and that per capital of $500
would exclude a fair numbers of families who could do with the
help.
I am also guessing that the help will not amount to
anything near $100 per capital, so it's more of a gesture
than a genuine intention to address the situation.
Just another case of the 'nation' takes the gain and the people
foot the cost.
