I still prefer the sound of a inline 5 though. And that unique vibration pattern on idle plus the famous comfy seats from Volvo, it's like a massage chair. God i miss my uncle's S40.

If your drag race is from 0-100kmh, then I'm sorry, you'll ultimately lose to the Punto. But this is IF the driver in the Impreza and the Punto are both of equal competence.

Your Impreza might have an edge for the first 50kmh due to its 4WD traction off the line, but after that the Punto will catch up and win the Impreza. But I must say the winning margin is super small. Maybe at the finish line (which is 100kmh), the nose of the Punto will edge out a bit and win the race.

In terms of changing gear Punto has a dualogic gear box which means it is a manual car but with a auto Clutch build in . there for it shifts faster then a convectional Manual car . The dualogic works like the Mitsubishi SST Twin clutch and the VW DSG accept the Dualogic system has only a Single clutch where as SST and DSG are twin clutch. ^^

lol are u refering to the honda or Fiat and subaru .. if for the fiat if u are a heavy footer the average consumption is about 12-13km/l if normal driving will be about 15-16km/l. For the subaru FC wise is veri bad if u are a heavy footer be prepared to see 8km/l lol

Honestly, given Singapore's kind of road traffic, not much difference in terms of performance between the 2.4i and the T5. The 2.4i will still let most of the cars around it eat its dust at traffic lights. The turbo will only come into play at higher speeds like about 70-80kmh. I even managed to induced a little chirrup of wheelspin in DRY conditions in his 2.4i. God knows what will happen if the road is wet.

The Punto's Dualogic is optimised for fuel economy and not performance, unless you are driving spiritedly and the gearbox detected that. But even so it will never be as fast as a dual clutch gearbox.

yup is more for fuel economy. but if u drive spiritedly as u said it still changes gear faster then a normal person driving a manual car this will give it the advantage during a so called Drag race ^^

The S40 is a very nice car, minimalist but very functional... the new S80 also very nice.. Haha no doubt the 2.4 inline5 is also powerful, but very rarely you see S40 drivers doing traffic light sprints!

Hmm talking about volvo i personally find that C70 is the nicest volvo eva build it had a sleek design and a unique folding roof too bad it cost a bomb =( i thin the C70 uses a Turbo engine if i am nt wrong ^^
