At least he dared to take the challenge from MM LKY to declare
his name and address in a Singapore Hotel, and say what he had said
when he was in the USA.
Unfortunately, MM could not keep his part of the bargain to
get a Presidential Pardon for JBJ; and despite all the
bravado talk of allow CSJ to question him face-to-face, MM got his
lawyer to work with the District Court judge to strike out a major
portion of the Affidavit of the Evidence in Chief submitted by CSJ,
CSC and the SDP.
Was the issue about offering Singapore as the 51st state, or was
the issue about the political rights for Singaporeans ?
It is odd that Singapore
Government should take sides with the opinion of the
World Community in a common stand towards oppressive
governments such as Kim Jong Il, Robert Mugabe, the Myanmar clique
of Generals - but will feel that the internal business of
Singapore is not open for others to opined.
In the fight for Global Talent, was it not the initiative
of Goh Chok Tong in suggesting a Singapore Outreach
program to get to attract Singaporean expatriates to
return ?
Is this the kind of mature reaction towards Singaporeans who had
the benefit of living in more open societies than Singaporeans -
and are more accustomed to giving robust opinions in the same way
that a First World Citizen in MM LKY believe that the Third
World Myanmar Generals are plain fools ?
What makes you think that when the crunch comes - our
Talent Elite with their ''Million $$$ Crutch" will be around, when
most have their children and grand-children living overseas,
and with some making their own
undeclared private investments of private safe havens in
