I dont know how some
criminals elected into indian parliament will make a
difference. Can someone pls explain whats the relevance
to the Indian economy or singapore pls?..n any case, i think
he has made a good joke. His reference to India only shows that
India can bring in Dell, HP, Microsoft even with criminals
running the county. . So it also shows we dont need Minister or any
others to run the country. most importantly this
thread made me realise that the real criminals are the
ones who create mass hysteria, suspicion and paranoia
among the general public aka Bin LAden, MSK. I think we can
add one more to the list.

Dell, the world's second-biggest maker of personal
computers, said sales in India may climb to almost $1 billion in
the year ending February 2009, helping Asian growth offset effects
of an expected slowdown in the US.
The Walt Disney Company, consumer product retailing arm of
global animation giant, will soon add 135 new stores to its
existing 15 in India over the next four years to strengthen its
foothold in the rapidly growing market here. According to Roshini
Bakshi , Disney Consumer Products Regional Director (ASEAN), "India
is a high priority market for us. We will open 150 stores for our
consumer products across the country by 2011," The company, which
currently operates 15 stores in the country, would open the outlets
in franchisee model. The sizes of the outlets would vary from 500
sq ft to 1,500 sq ft area, which would sell stationary goods, party
products, school and office items, gifts and soft toys.
European fashion giant Benetton Group has perched India at the
top of the priority growth markets as it works on an emerging
markets strategy. This follows India's emergence as the top
performer with 58% revenue growth during 2007. While unveiling the
preliminary results for 2007, the Benetton Group board has
identified five priority growth markets - India, Turkey, East
European and ex-Soviet Union countries, Mexico and China - apart
from chasing new growth drivers in established areas. Luciano
Benetton-led fashion group, with United Colors of Benetton as the
flagship business, is placing a strategic priority on Asian
markets, especially India and China. With over 140 United Colors of
Benetton stores, India is probably the largest base of Benetton,
but recorded the highest growth ahead of other hot markets like
Russia and East European markets, which recorded over 40% rise.
It may also be noted that India is likely to become second
largest wireless network in the world after China in the first half
of April 2008.According to CTIA website ( a Association of Wireless
operators in US), the current subscriber base of USA is 256
million. US is adding about 2-3 million subscribers in a month
where as China is adding around 6-7 million subscribers in a month.
India's monthly wireless subscriber addition is highest in the
range of 8-9 million amonth. Thus India's wireless subscriber base
during the first half of April 2008 will surpass that of USA and
will become second largest wireless network in the world. Not only
this, the total subscriber base (wireless + wireline) of India will
also cross 300 million mark in April 2008
