I hear that some of your citizens are earning very low wages. As
low as a few hundreds a month, sgd.
This is appalling to me.
Like some, I also believe in minimum wage for your citizens.
Afterall, Singapore is a 1st world now, at least that is what is
reported by some people. I mean the news.
I think this is a great chance for the Opposition to contribute
to their country and make mark for themselves. This is a rare
chance.
Voice up now and in public. Let them know you have started
fighting for minimum wage. Why let others do this for you? You are
Opposition. You should do this for the people if the policies are
not going to be changed by the people in power. Step in now. Show
people you people are the 1st in politic circle who are raising
concern for this. I foresee that eventually there will be minimum
wage policy set up. Why not be the one who champion this for the
people and leave a mark in your career?
With inflation and risen cost of living (so many hikes , are you
not aware?) , this low level of wage will make low wage workers
uncertain of their retirement and this can make them feel this
world is so cruel, mean and tough. Quality of Life is
affected drastically.
I urge that the Opposition take up this as a challenge to fight
for your people, especially the low and lowest wage earners. Fight
for their decent minimum wage.
Act now. Chances do not come so easily.
I reiterate, I firmly believe that in a 1st world, there will be
minimum wage system implemented.
