Pocketing can be thought of as the opposite of traditional body
piercing. In pocketing, the ends of the jewelry are placed under
the skin in small "pockets", while the body of the jewelry remains
outside the skin. As this piercing heals, the jewelry can be
removed and replaced, simply by pushing it to one side, releasing
one end, then sliding it out.
