anyone bougt a suzuki ignis?

Hi,
get alot of tips from this forum about cars.
It's great!
Just got my license and hoping to buy a new car.
but budget constraint...looking for one that is real cheap.
saw that suzuki ignis and hyundai accent, getz are of the cheapest around. Any one has any recommendation?
I am quite tall - about 1.8m, very uncomfortable to squeeze into small cars. Which of the 3 above is the better choice?
Also need to check, what is the minimum downpayment for a new car?

Suggest you try out Suzuki ignis sport. It has quite a bit of head room there. Best of all, it’s a low price performance car.

why dun u consider suzuki liana. the new facelift was great and it got spacious interior and headroom.

Why not try the Liana, Ive just got it aboiut 3 weeks, very spacious and im 1.85m tall Smile
Ive got a 1.6 Auto, pretty responsive although the pickup power is not too good.
The price now should be much lower about 6k less becuase of the new budget announcement. Can consider.

I have check out the Liana after reading the mail here.
It seems pretty good too. And I compare the headroom space with Toyota vios...seems better than the vios.

Liana is made in Japan right?

i booked a liana sometime in jan and still waiting for it to deliver. but anyway, dat time the minimum downpayment is about 6%. i booked the 1.3 so i pay about 4k+ for the downpayment. excluding the 1st installment and insurance. all in all upfront cash

@ the time I booked the minimum down was 4k. And before you book "squeeze" the salemans for freebis man....not tryin to be cheapskate, but its better than nothing.
I believe they still give you the $500 Takashimaya voucher, you can negoitate to get your multidisc CD, Rear spolier (Hatchback) in exchange.

So far I find the Liana easy to handle and but its a bit noisy on the expressways if you are accelerating from 60kph to 90kph, possibly is my driving habit as well. Note that its has chain drive as compared to the conventional belt drive.

The Ignis was my choice too, but I was looking for the Hungarian model, "cool", but they don't bring it in Singapore.

the downpayment seems affordable to me.
how about the installment? How much are u guys paying for it?
Btw, whts the diff between chain drive and belt drive ?

Did anyone buy the Hyundai Getz? looks nice too.

At first I thought of going for the 7 yrs loan, i.e. monthly is about $760, but i changed my mind, i put in more downpayment and took the 10yrs loan to have my monthly reduce to $560.

If you are looking for the auto version, is only the 1.6. My friend has been driving the 1.3 manual for about two months, fuel consumption is good I believe its about 15-16km/L.

The chain drive is positive, ie slippage is almost eliminated as compared to belt drive. This translate to accurate timing of the valves etc. if it is tuned correctly in the 1st place. BUT the con is that if the chain breaks, it would be very costly to replace. The dealer did not commit but he say that chain drive can last very long i.e. 5 yrs minimum without replacement. Still I think it depends on your driving habits.

Hi aspymanus..actually me going for the getz..i had paid the deposit ardy but jus cancelled it due to the budget announcement! But it is not a performance car and sad to said there is minium number of people willing to drive a Huyndai…but if u r keen why not wait after this week so as to see what is the outcome of the budget announcement. Happy car hunting….!
