GwenSilvz SG

I found it online. http://www.cityspeed.com.sg/Speed/
It's more of a car-sharing program...just pay an annual membership of around $100 and you can rent a car from hourly to long term basis at about the same rate for renting a car.

Just found this too http://www.vlifestyle.com/eclassified/index_home.cfm?links=listings.cfm&&SubID=11 They welcome drivers on probation.
Haven't call them up though...you might wanna give it a try?

Danisdead101times SG

don’t be so gan jiong lah…take your license 1st…i rem someone told me before that it is against the law that if u drive where u haven’t take your license, but i don’t know its true anot loh….but don’t risk.!! license is precious…

GwenSilvz SG

I got license!! just that they haven't send me yet... and the receipt says that I can drive while waiting! Very Happy

if the rental company does not want to rent out to you, then it is their stupidity for being so rigid and lack of business minded, you can imagine in 1 yr how many new drivers there are…with their 1 yr probation period.

u r one gan jiong spider!

want to rent car and drive very easy. get someone who is qualified, ur father/brother or sister to rent the car, then u drive lor... simple and good, provided u don't lan-ga lah. Wink

i think ALL the car rentals around the world are not toopid. they probably haf studies to show tt first yr drivers below certain age are the most accident prone, and they haf prob made the assessment tt its not worth opening up to the mkt with the potential cost tt could be incurred from their accidents.

wuming78 SG

they can drive wif tt receipt while waiting for the actual license to come.

but agreed: dun so gan jiong lah! aloto ppl in singapore oso get license liao but no car to drive for yrs.

GwenSilvz SG

Bah!! I'll be having my own Vios!! Delivery on March/April!!! Cool

erm.. i believe the minimum is 1 yr experience, before u can rent a car.. last time when i first got my driver's license.. managed to find a friend to rent the car instead.. the first time was okie.. nothing went wrong.. cos was driving a nissan march 1.0 manual... the second time my friend rented a proton wira 1.3 auto... erm... got into a slight accident.. Embarassed ended up paying abt $1++ in all.. inclusive of the extension in rental and repairs.. Rolling Eyes
