hello!
I'm not a Singaporean, so sorry to intrude, but I attend
university with a guy from Singapore. We've been friends for
a while and we recently decided to start dating.
I have limited experience with Singaporean culture and I was
just wondering if there was anything I should be sensitive of going
in? Are there major cultural differences that could lead to
problems?
My mother is white, but my father is Japanese and the only
exposure I've had to Asia is visiting my dad's family in Japan. I'm
American-born and I look pretty Western, so I'm painfully aware of
my foreigner status whenever I'm around my dad's family. I know
Singapore is much more diverse than Japan. Still, how pronounced is
the outsider factor?
