Mclaren SLR in sg already?

haowee SG

There is no SLR in Singapore. The ad was out since the december issue of AutoCar. Not sure whether there is any car in the showroom in Alexandar as said in the ad, but there is no buyer for this supercar yet. Maybe your friend saw the SL...

But there are 2 buyers for the Porsche Carrera GT. Because its left hand drive, they will be registered in Germany and kept some other country but not Singapore.

There is also a Singaporean interested in buying a Enzo Ferrari, but not sure whether he qualify. There is a Enzo Ferrari in the showroom of Hong Seh Motors, not sure whether its still there. Was still there when I went there on 18/01/2004. Managed to take only 1 shot of that beautiful car.

Went to Aston Martin showroom but can't see anything except this Toyota Corolla with a nice number SCP1C.

Most expensive car in Singapore still the Jaguar XJ220. Its OMV is already S$1,000,000 when it was sold in 1991. There is still one in Singapore but the owner de-registered it. Its parked together with a Ferrari F50 in a secret location.

Really like to see the Pagani Zonda. Not sure of the exact location of the showroom except its in Changi. Can someone tell me??? Will the sales rep really entertain you there?

I can vote for tat. I really saw 1 of them. The design is the same as the 1 in the mag(which mag? I'll check up for u, too many mags need to look through).

The car's design is like no other SLRs u commonly see on the streets. The car's external shape + design(thanks to Mclaren) is very unique. I remember seeing it in black(and I remembered drooling in awe).

As for performance-wise, I dunno, but I assume it won't loose out to Rexes and Evos.

Mercedes is very smart, taking tat Mclaren designed chio bu under their name.... ha ha!!

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you refer to SL 500....not the Mclaren SLR 500...
Can't remember if it's SL 500 or SLR 500...but anyway...it costs $500k for one...a big gap from Mclaren SLR 500...the SL500 got some similiarities with the Mclaren SLR 500...the outlook of the car..
So far i've seen 3 SL500....one i saw was parked at yishun blk 925 kopitiam...one was on the road...both are silver in color....
The very 1st SL 500 was white...n that's my chairman's car..thik in s'pore there's only one white in color SL500 coz i heard that his car was imported n sent out to Italy(or Germany...can't remember) to change the whole of the interior designs and so..his SL 500 is one n only in s'pore..car plate number tink is EK1E
So far of all the SL500 i've saw are silver in colors..

could u have seen the new SLK? that car is very similiar to the SLR. anyways, i'm still not too sure because, for all sighting reports, it could be a mis-sight of the SLK or the SL. but i do hope its in already!

its called SL500. the SLR has no number designation behind it. its simply called Mercedes McLaren SLR.

Goodeal SG

hmm...i know the models well...
my colleague might mistake it as a SL.
SL has 3 engine, 350 & 500 plus 55 AMG.
SLK?
SLK is so much smaller beside the Mclaren SLR if put beside each other.
How to mistaken?
and i guess the new SLK is not even sold in any part of the world yet.
sometime in the world u would expect the unexpected.
hmm...i haven got the addres yet.
i will get u ppl inform.
[email protected] i might pm u the address if u r interested.
i wish to respect ppl privacy.
pls do not spread around.

as for the pagani.
the salesman welcome everyone to view at upper changi rd.
from PIE exit at upper changi road, go straight than turn right on changi north st 1.
i doubt the pagani is available for test drive.
but the salesman offer the SL55 AMG for me to test-drive.
check out the E55 AMG also.
so i believe he will to the rest of u.
happy testing... Laughing

THE SUNDAY TIMES 13/03/2004

Headline: Blah blah blah whack a SL55 AMG into Changi Prison.
On a fine sat morning, blah blah blah went to AutoKultar to view exotic cars. The kind salesman went to entertain him and offer him a test-drive. Being a P-plate sotong driver. Blah blah blah is confident that he can handle 500+bhp base on his balls. Despite driving his stock Kelisa. He engaged D and he slowly lift up the brakes. Wham...he nearly bang into the wall of AutoKultar showroom. What a torque...he said. Still confident he slowly exit AutoKultar showroom with the brakes on all the way. After reaching the road...Mr blah blah blah became more confident and feel the need to try the power of the car. But...according to the salesman who is still lying in hospital bed: that #$%#$#^ piss his pant when he accelerate ABIT and went stun while the car fly straight into the wall of Changi Prison. The end.

maybe if e SLK was placed next to the SLR, it wun be mistaken. but from afar, when u just catch a glimpse, due to the fact that it was styled on the SLR, there IS a chance that it is mis-identified as one.

Anyway, SL got 4 engines. 350, 500, 55 AND 600. oh yah btw, do PM me the addy, thanks

The new SLK not launch in Singapore yet. It was only shown to the world in the recent Geneva Motorshow. But I'm sure no SLR in Singapore yet. Mercedes confirmed that in last weeks Sunday Times. They said there was no order for that car so far.

Rofl GTR vs Mac That is no challenge well not a challenge for the Maclearen ..... I say one thing weight to power ration !!!!!

(once more there is no mclearen here) --> they most prob just abused the sticker OR OR u saw the mclearen F1 that one i dont know

tailslide SG

maybe the full c/f GTR got half a chance......... otherwise, the only other car i think that can beat these supercars are F1 cars Shocked

[email protected] SG

they did a drag test of McLaren vs Gt-R...
well what can i say? they said this: "here we see the difference between a very fast car, and the McLaren F1"

basically, the McLaren kicked the Shit out of the GT-R.

also... saw a supra vs McLaren F1...
well the in car camera from the supra basically shows the McLaren pulling out 10-15 car lengths or so... AT the start of the race... by the time they did the quarter mile, well....... the supra was lagging about 5 secs behind
