Driving to Penang using new car..izzit ok?

I joined the Singtel 8th Charity Drive which starts on this saturday. The drive is from the 2nd link to Penang. I will be driving Toyota Altis which is abt 2 months old. Will there be any problems for a new car to go on a long distance before the car has travelled 5000km? Heard from people that it might damage the engine. Any comments??? Thx.

It should be ok… based on my experience.. when i 1st bought my car.. bout weeks later, i straight away drove to perlis.. and come back to singapore.. absolutely no problem.. well nowadays engines are design to be tough.. not as gentle lyke “aqua”...

Engine should be okie but beware of wear and tear of other parts.

I'm a heavy driver to M'sia. Drove to Penang once, KL a few times and many other places in Malaysia like Muai, Batu etc..........

Blow my air con compressor at 82,000km (2001 car). Just send it to my mechanic. Sigh~ no car to use for the next 2 days, worst still, its gonna cost me S$600-700.

Maybe I'm suay, but I'm sure the wear and tear has to do with my heavy usage. So you better more careful. Hope you have a nice ride...... cheers~!
