tv censorship - china style

i have experienced this over the years but it happened seconds ago as i was watching cnn....

the chinese authorities has the ability to block and blank out news article that is not in its favour.

cnn is running a commentary about politics and the olympics in china, particularly over the darfur debacle. 5 seconds into the report, the channel suddenly blanks out......it reappear minutes later when the latter part of the report interviews sports stars like roger federer who quotes that he does not want to mix politics and sports, etc. only the good part is shown.

as i said, i have encountered this a few times. this is particularly true on cnn, not so much the bbc.

well over here the SPH and Mediacorp feed us enough shit to not bother about the CNN and BBC. china's censoring political stuff yes, but what political stuff worth any real interest goes on air today? Even in bloody America everyone's being distracted by entertainment shit while congress passes bills to erode the constitution.. remember the incident about britian's golden boy in Afganistan? bloody media managed to keep it down. fking dont watch tv people they peddle you lies.

well, in my case, i got nothing better to do. walk out of the hotel, i get accosted by vultures out there. the lesser of the 2 evils is to watch cnn and be humored by it.

cna too is guilty as hell. today, you get shown a hell lot of informercial on china this, china that and how good it is over there. of course, the payback is you get cna in most 4-5 stars hotels in china now.

i am not sure who is pawning who? for the chinese, they got an avenue where a so called credible tv channel outside of china is waxing lyrical about the country. for cna, its viewership sky rockets because it can count its chinese audience too as viewers.

cna, i definitely don't watch;..........well, except japan hour for the food.
