true lah but somehow it may coax them into tinking that SG is a helpful company that helps other countries.... which is true when disaster strikes, SG gives usually give small aids to other countries (i said small cos for eg, 500K to help ah tiong in that freaking snowstorm is barely enuff...)

The money is given for political reasons - to improve the level of foreign relations between Singapore and China , so really if Singapore gave 500k , it's just for the guanxi, an investment that helps with trade and what's not.

Stop thinking that giving tribute can buy peace or guanxi between govt. Those days were over.
