Not to mention that the car prices are artificially further inflated by COE.

i strongly believe stats are done this way:

1)
Name: ah beng
Qs: Do you feel happy about living in sg? NO

2)
Name: FT
Qs: Do you feel happy about living in sg? YES

3)
Name: ah seng
Qs: Do you feel happy about living in sg? NO

Conclusion to public: 100% of ppl in sg say they love staying in sg.

wad abt the negative answer? check their recycle bin Smile

eagle SG

That is a strong claim you are making without knowing how their statistics are derived. There are statistical calculations to determine the correct sample size, and the spread of it around a mean, in topics such as estimation theory and hypothesis testing and etc.

extrinsic SG

because most the stats made by the govt looks so unreal to me.
just like how they get the stats, i got my claims the same way.

in fact, i think for most of the survey, they did a pre-selection and reject of the candidates for the survey. Reason if becuz i participate in such survey becuz and was stunned to show such things.

something like, they have already targetted the range of candidates that are most likely to produce a positive answer to participate.

1.tx for your effort and we can talk on same frequency

2.Chicken talking to goose--the figure just show net increase of migration
in SG,not emigration ,dear.

Net migration rate :An excess of persons entering the country is referred to as net immigration (e.g., 3.56 migrants/1,000 population);an excess of persons leaving the country as net emigration (e.g., -9.26 migrants/1,000 population).

The net migration rate indicates the contribution of migration to the overall level of population change.

Net migration rate:
26.11 migrant(s)/1,000 population (2002 est.)

these figures certainly have a very negative implication on Spore's defence force.

Seven_Dragon SG

if you can get out of s'pore (or jail), do you think you want to come back???
i will f*** you if you come back... don't ever come back... here not good for s'poreans to stay... only good for FTs Mad Mad Mad FTs go and die... agree?

LazerLordz SG

Well there are ways to keep this nation as an attractive place for Singaporeans.

But the fellas up there, well, sooner or later they will learn the hard way.

imagine those "unlucky" souls living at TPY central who need to pay ERP to drive home! Neutral

oldbreadstinks SG

well can't say i agree with you, i find myself thinking of migrating but a lot of my customers love singapore despite its faults. Neutral i find that mostly it my friends and the people around me that want to leave singapore because of the stress of living here but customers i've met during work still think that singapore is a great place and have no thoughts of migrating. but all of my friends are from middle or lower income group while my customers who have more positive thoughts about staying here tend to be from the higher income group and they're singaporeans not foreigners.

Had a cousin migrated to USA to escape army early days....... gave up our "expensive" passport. Now an expatriate in SG and govt offer him PR. He was joking to me about it.

i didnt want to emigrate but i have little choices left.
seeing my peers that are struggling with work, finance and the imminent jobless nes, it really scared me. i had struggled with studies and work for so long, now face another challenge and that is providing for my family.

the day i depart from changi airport for my emigration, i nearly cried.

tripwire SG

the singapore phenomenon.....

one family with 1000 dollar income can have 3-4 children...

another family with 100,000 dollar income say they cannot afford to have more then 2 children... in fact one is more then they could handle....

dont like FTs??? have more local babies lah..... so simple....

cannot afford? ok..... lets cut your salary down to 1,000 dollar... then you can have 3-4 babies.... Mr. Green

Last statement : Foreign Talent .

Did you ever notice that FT is used more by the govt thinktanks than SG Talents?

kcockicht SG

no lah those migrated include thos FT who came here got cictizen ship then migrate to angmoh coountries lah Laughing

reddressman SG

sg'reans who migrated are more and more I see.

I am not surprised.

why ?

more and more caperber liao waht.

Remember : Migration is not for anyone. Not anyone qualifies to be migrated. Those who CAN and are AYE-BER to only QUALIFIES to emigrate. Those who wanna but does not qualify, either by way of international market value , skills and wealth, cannot, I stress, cannot migrate successfully.

Look at the ah bengs uncles and young ah bengs. how do you expect them to qualify? unless they filty rich.

above, me personal opine onlys.
