World Bank Group defines extreme poverty as living on less
than US$ (PPP) 1 per day, and moderate
poverty as less than $2 a day.
The Singapore state give out a mere S$290/- a month to the
needy subjecting them to poverty and hardship.
Means S'pore gives out US$4.50 a day to the needy.
And your reasoning is flawed... If they are already considered
"needy", they are already in poverty and hardship. The state does not subject them to
poverty and hardship by your argument.
