Lancer947 SG Hi, always hear of low fuel consumption in cars. Can we share the fuel consumption in different makes n models of cars? Mine Mit Lancer 03 goes abt 13km/litre. How abt others?
SilverCab SG 13km/litre? Is it stop go traffic or expressway traffic? For a new car,13km/litre is quite high.
Lancer947 SG It is a auto car. Understand fm my friend who drove the new nissan sunny 03 goes abt 14km/litre.
KhidMasAE86 SG The new nissan sunny petrol suck like mineral water... 13km/lit for ur new lancer is quite high...
cagelee131 SG i know toyota corolla VVTI 1.5L can hit about 14-15 Km/L.. i know another fren driving Toyota Ipsum MPV 2.4L about 9km/L.
cagelee131 SG heard Lexus RX 300 does 15L/100km which is only about 7 km/L....talk about heavy consumption......understandably...it has 3L engine.
lowem SG Somebody's Honda Jazz managed to get 23.0 km/l. See : http://www.jroller.com/page/lowem/20030707#23_0_km_l That's due to its iDSI engine, dual spark plugs per cylinder, fire twice per cycle. But for most ordinary family sedans of 1.5L-1.6L, 12-13 km/l is pretty okay. Anything larger than that, you're talking about the "hiao" factor and it's no longer about economy - 2.0L++ engines will usually get much less than 10 km/l. My personal fuel economy record is 16.4 km/l. See : http://www.jroller.com/page/lowem/20030717#personal_economy_record But that was an exceptional case. Most of the time, 12-13 km/l is more typical.
teknofreaker SG My previous Car: Nissan VIP Ex1.5 Auto 13Km/L (long distance ie NS Highway 16 Km/L) My Current Car: Nissan Prairie 2.0L Auto MPV 9Km/L (long distance ie NS Highway 13 Km/L)
Lancer947 SG tat strange unless u travel at the same moderate speed. I recall tat when travel at 90km/h and 110km/h, shd uses abt 15% more fuel. Wat speed U travel at NS Highway?
SilverCab SG Travelling at a constant speed will consume lesser petrol as compared to stop go traffic or short distance travel(less than 10km)
Hitakogi SG Heard abt the new added chemical from "Shell" can save petrol, does it work? is it true? by how many % ?
