Hi guys,

sorry to lead you here, but i wish to find out where to find professional modelling in sg at the lowest cost?
i am planning to buy a model and make it for a friend, but i am very poor in modelling.
i even destroyed a couple of them.

1st. i wish to find out if there are any shops or body providing this service?
2nd. any free-lance interested to help me out?
3rd. how much does the service cost? if too ex it somehow destroy the purpose. becoz now economy drive.

my friend collect car models and he has plenty of those stainless steel by auto art, etc.

a tamiya car should be damn fine and special as a gift.

anyone knows about the modelling shop in bugis junction?
do they provide this service?
anyone know the rate?
i see their skill is really good and professional.

y dun u buy ready made die-cast ones? u can but them in any major department stores. Brands like Maisto are good quality for money. higher up the price range, brands like AutoArt are highly recommended. Some other brands like Burango… well… avoid.

THinkn the best die cast ones are autoart...the rest... think you might as well do yourself.

Maisto, go for the premium models. they have a diff range, with diff quality.

There is 1 sole-importer of tamiya models in s'pore....argh....cant remember the webby...but i noe where's the shop. Its along North Bridge Road (1 of the shophouses), near the Sultan Mosque there. I think the name is taiseng or taisei...cant remember clearly though...

I think the shop y r referring to is at Golden Landmark building. I got my Tamiya models there (abt 10 years back). Dunno if the shop is still there Very Happy )

ya I think you meant TaiSeng. I just got interested into modelling and is on the way to get my first car model and learn to fix it up. So I guess I'll need some invaluable advice from these shops or even guys here who model cars Mr. Green I'm sure there will be some who frequents a particular shop that is a cut above the rest in terms of service etc. ? anyone?

Hi there.. new to SGforums.... Ok here's my take on this.... i've been playing wif TAMIYA 1:24 scale models for a while now have 3 in my possession and one more skyline to built.... always shop from this place in funan last time... i haven't done any model shopping for the past 2 yrs but i think it closed down...

2 popular locations to buy plastic kits and paints and other stuff for buildign up one is either bugis..or Specialist shopping centre 3 floor.... bugis has more tank kits and japanese anime stuff... but for a wide variety die die have to go tai seng... and they are onli open during office hrs on weekdays and half days on sat.......

As for building models, my advice.. dun buy your dream car or yoru fav car model to build 1st... coz usually 1st try will always be disaster... like when i 1st got mine i wrecked the bumper paint job and numerous decals... try on something less fanciful... i.e. no F1 or WRC cars wif lots of decals...... u might consider investing in airbrush and other paint tools like mask tape and paint pens.. ....
