One of my India ex-colleague made this point. He said that he
read the HDB rules about housing for local citizen and he compared
it to the rules for foreigners. He said that he felt sorry for
Singaporeans that we have so much limitation to owning a house in
Singapore. He felt that the govt made such policies that are so
disadvantages to its own citizen, so how can they expect
Singaporeans to stay in Singapore? And foreigners who come to know
of such policies will also shun away because simply it does not
benefit them. its better to stay a PR and then grab what they can
and then go back to their homeland like India or China. But poor
Singaporeans has no place to go.
I felt sorry for my fellow Singaporeans too. I told him
unfortunately, we have no place else to go ....
I read a book about Spore HDB flats, the owner need to seek
permission from the authority to rent out the flat to others.
