I don't think peace would ever
prevail in the region
Simple
Majority of the Palestinians don't want peace
Why
As a gesture of goodwill by the Israelis to the Palestinians for
peace sake
The former left the Gaza strip in August 2005
So out of gratitude
Most Palestinians elected Hamas, a terrorist organization hell-bent
on Israel's destruction, as the ruling party in a democratic
election in January 2006.
But its not all
Let me take you guys back many many years ago.
Peel Partition Plan
1919, 1921, 1922, 1929, and 1936 saw Arab violence against Jews
expanding in scope and growing in brutality
A commission led by Lord Earl Peel suggested partition.
Let the Jews have their state on the 15% of lands that they have
purchased and redeemed.
Let the Arabs have theirs on the remaining 85%.
In 1922 Britain had given all of Palestine EAST of the Jordan river
to the emir Abdullah, a kingdom with a majority Palestinian
population, Jordan
Technically the 1st Palestinian nation.
When offered their own state in 1937 on 85% of British Mandatory
Palestine WEST of the Jordan river
The Arab leadership chose war and terrorism.
This was the "Great Arab Revolt" of 1937-1939. With World War II in
the offing, Britain lost no time in brutally crushing the Arab
revolt.
After WW2, the UN partitioned Palestine into 2 states, 45:55
With the Jews getting the 55%
Based upon the land ownership and population densities of the two
groups,
BUT Negav (the southern desert, crown land largely unpopulated and
believed to be worthless) was given to the Jews.
This desert constituted 60% of the Jewish portion.
The Palestinians rejected this plan and initiated the 6-day
war
And in 2000, after the failed Middle East Peace Summit at Camp
David , Palestinians initiated the 2nd Intifada.
Thrice the Palestinians were granted nationhood
Thrice they rejected nationhood
Thrice they responded with armed aggression.
But most of all, many have been influenced/brainwashed that
Jews/Zionists are the bad guys.
Hence. For as long as I live, peace wouldn't come between both
parties.
