Do our political leaders need to have right moral values?

I say right moral value and not high because I don't expect them to be saints. But at least they should know having affair with someones who are not your wife and husbands are moral wrong whether you are forgiven or not are not relevant at all, wrong means wrong.

Do we want our children to look up to our political leaders and see them as the role models? Do we want our future generation to think that as far as you can perform well in your career you can do anything which are moral wrong. Our political leaders are like Taiwanese ? Hope this day will never come.

Moral values differ from person to person and from religion to religion and from culture to culture.

Which religion in the world condones the adultery? Moral values not necessary related to religion, they are universal ones. If you drive and know down an old lady, do you run away? If you are teacher teaching moral lessons, do you go Geylang to find prostitute?

Islam as well as mormonism allows for the taking of more then 1 wife. Any other religion which permits or recognizes only 1 wife could say those religions encourage adultery. It depends on your religion's stand.

If during the race riots in Singapore, a chinese accidentally knocks an old malay woman over. I think he'd probably run. It depends on the circumstance.

Using Singapore as the place for your teacher example imputes the application of Singapore law and taints that as an example for morality issues.

I like simple answers. I think there is such a thing as the wrong simple answer.

Not too long ago in China,there was one child falling into the river and the crying parents asking people to help. Some people quickly walked away and some asked for the money. Only when the nearby solider heard the commotion, they jumped into the river but it was too late, the child died.

If our teachers and parents do not have the right moral values, our future generation will be the ones walking away!

Which is why I say because the concept of morality is complex, therefore the concept of requiring leaders to have the right moral values is going to be equally complex.

I'd prefer simple answers but saying we need leaders to have the right moral values may not be the right simple answer.

Nows a day the more you pay the more you got a minister with the "right moral values" to do the job
