streettalk SG A number of car enthusiasts "dissect" the exhaust box (near the end tail pipe). Modifications such as alteration of the internal pipings, adding/removing of fibreglass wool and so on are done and then welding up the dissected box. Questions: a) is it legal to do this? can this be passed by Vicom during inspection? b) will it pollute the air? c) how much horsepower gain? Help!!!
tailslide SG opening up your exhaust box and modifying it: $200.00 going for inspection at VICOM: $50.00 getting caught by VICOM during your inspection for modifying the exhaust box: $500.00 gaining +5 horsepower at the expense of poisoning our environment: priceless. there're somethings in life that you just shouldn't do. for everything else, there are always legal brands like Remus and Supersprint.
AE86tofu SG yup…i prefer remus….my dad once installed a fake cat. in his car…stinks like hell compared with the cat.(exhaust gases) just 2 get abt 50BHp gain
shawn113 SG Ah ya just go and change your whole exhaust system lor. It should give you about 10 bhp gain and a nice sound
streettalk SG Hi Fellas, Thanks for the advice. Looks like it is expensive to fool around with these modification...Better to stick with street legal exhaust as the fines are not worth it.
[email protected] SG hey LTA is damn strict on exhaust dun play wit it. like wad tailslide said, remus and supersprint.
tailslide SG aww, shucks, thanx. actually, its a mastercard ad. wonder if they'll sue me for infringing intellectual property rights?
