eh, I was there in September when Thinkall initiated the Black Saturday event. I believe we must put in action (within our limit/what we can do) other than just talk talk talk. I will tick people off if they talk and talk and actions show otherwise. For eg, the ah neh near my house kept complaining non stop about PAP and after election he told me he voted for PAP, I told him off.

Many voters I know of (please don't ask me how many percent) voted PAP out of fear, especially those middle age and above people. We have to do our part to educate them to be true to themselves and not rule by fear to make their choice. Tell them good examples of PAP taking care of themselves at our expense.

Actually I don't see how fearful it can be. Regarding your number of voters voting out of fear, I have indeed read articles who claimed that. So there's no necessity to ask how many.

And to PAP, the party firmly believe that when a recession comes, more Sgreans will vote for them. A recession is expected to come, and perhaps that's why they have a spate of unpopular policies at this time. Evil or Very Mad

Well, there are people who don't dare to give others a chance, they rather choose to suffer under the PAP. People like that have to change their mentality. PAP and lky are smart they know the weaknesses of the people and know where and when to take advantage.

Do you see any hope in these people to vote PAP out? Sometimes, I rather talk to foreigners than locals. Many foreigners I talk to have a good feel about the politics here and there are times they bring up good points for consideration. For eg, someone told me gahmen here make Singaporeans live within the fence. A number of China nationals told me they will go back China once they earn $$$$ for Singapore is not a good place to stay when they grow old.

Well, foreigners (of course not from China and India :lol Smile also tell me how surprised they are with the price of outside food here. I myself have been on student exchange and immersions to Germany, and tour around some other countries beside Germany, so I can concur with them easily that the price of food here is really low.

There are both good points and bad points la.... I mean, which other first world country can you get a meal for <1.5 euros?

i think he is trying to say though sg standard of living has increased at least basic necessities of food are not that beyond reach we still can have a decent hawker meal compared to other countries. so we shld not only look at the negative pts but also positive ones here. Razz

This I have to agree with you. Whenever I talked negatively about PAP in public places, my friends will show me a "I am not interested" or "dun get me into trouble" looks. so no choice no point in continuing to talk since they are not interested.
