Dr Chee is on the board to give creditability to the commission and not as chairman.

He is able to give creditability because he is the only one who openly fights till last cent and totally boo chap the current system in Singapore.

he volunteered to be their witness at the counting stations.. they went there, didn't even go ask about their own volunteers.. instead, they went there to hassle the officials...

then they went off..

not even an acknowledgement of their own volunteers.. who could not leave the polling station... the MIW had their own volunteer witnesses...

they were very well-coordinated so that any one time, they had someone who watched over the ballot boxes...

the SDP? nothing.. not even coming over to talk to him.. he was left there, without water, food or anything for the whole of the elections..

the MIW volunteers whom he was talking to, offered him water and meals instead after he was abandoned by the people he volunteered for...

now.. if they cannot look after their own volunteers, and they'd rather go make life difficult for election officials, what would they be like when they are actually in power? this is their own people here..

i think it left a sour taste in the mouth of Colin Goh..

now... extrapolate that to what he is doing now... CST took SDP to the point where they were a credible and the leader of the opposition parties, strong and confident enough to offer an alternative to the MIW.. and people believed in them...

then CST got his back stabbed by CSJ... and now, when you think the SDP have reached rock bottom, they pull out shovels and start digging.. they are worse than a joke now.. and with his pathetic power-grab from CST, he's thrown the opposition back about 20 years..

which is why everyone who knows, condemn him.. and look at him with disgust...

he has done more damage to the opposition than the MIW can ever do... heck! i even think he's a mole for the MIW to destroy the opposition..

for that, i can never forgive him...

look at what he's doing now? fake hunger strikes, nonsense, getting himself arrested, in other words, wh0ring himself out to foreigners who don't know and don't care about Singapore and are only interested in using him for their own agenda...

know him for his actions.. he has done NOTHING to serve the people..

from there, we know them for what they are...

look at LTK and CST.. they serve the people... they do not go about ranting about "freedoms" which is nonsensical at best... the "freedom" CSJ and some here in SC talk about, doesn't even exist in the land of the free...

we have our own freedoms.. and hell, with personal responsibility, we make our own decisions and do our best... there are many in SC which advocate a nanny state which is strangely the very antithesis of the "freedoms" they rant and rave about...

btw.. freedom? we are talking about these things on the internet freely... and we do not need to fear the knock at the door in the middle of the night..

we need personal responsibility... and the personal courage to do what we have to do, and make the correct decisions for ourselves..

not the nonsense which is impossible to do advocated by some in SC here..

Why is freedom nonsensical?

Basic freedoms:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

MIW has the channels ie connections to the western governments, Switzerland for instance, to implement an adapted western style of check and balances to make sure there is no corruption at the upper as well as the lower ranks in the government.

I think it is necessary, otherwise, the people would have no other alternatives but to vote more opposition members.

CSJ's actions seemed absurd to me from the start but after reading this article i begin to feel that he is starting to make sense.

IMO he is trying to act as a catalyst and create change which explains the need for such radical behaviour since the common singaporean is a conformist that follows the rule of thumb that "the current gahment will always be in power cause the opposition will never be strong/respected enough by the general public" and thus conform to this "fate"..... i dunno Wink
