A government is elected to pass laws for the benefits of the
people not for their own political control or private agenda of the
ruling government.
Thai people were right in protesting to the passing of many laws
near to election time to give extra power to the ruling
government.
All Singaporeans should be courageous to speak up against any
legalistic wrangling of laws which are not of benefit to the
majority of citizens but only serving the ruling government's own
private agenda.
The passing of laws to change the constituency boundaries from
Balestier to Tanjong Pagar for example near election time should be
resisted by all right-thinking Singaporeans as such laws are only
passed to serve the narrow interest of control of election by the
ruling government.
