Undeniably, what the Archbishop was saying, to the effect, was that they need more people like the innocent Jap reporter to be shot.

True or false? Wink

Icemoon SG

If he doesn't .. can you do the Burmese a favour by pulling out the plug?

4getmenot SG

it would be nice if you were the one who got shot in place for a change... i'm sure it wouldn;t had being much of a news or a bother to anyone.. Mr. Green

4getmenot SG

you think hes really here for some ailing treatment? ..Isn't it so much of a coincidence with the demonstration happening now in burma..? Rolling Eyes

But a single death is a tragedy .. the Man of Steel said so. Wink

According to the blog, he has been here for three to four months.

4getmenot SG

his family and senior general too? Rolling Eyes

Icemoon SG

I'm not sure where is everybody now though.

According to the blog, the senior general was here at the beginning of the year.

The junta leader, Senior General Than Shwe, 73, also visited Singapore in January for what an embassy official said were medical checks.

Soe Win is in Singapore for long-term treatment, the current Junta's PM.

U just have to read a few actual event

1) Japan will continue to provide Aid to Myanmar dispite the killing of its field reporter.

Sanction is not the right treatment. At this moment no Asian countries are talking about cutting trades or sanction.

2) Did u read that the UN envoy actually visited MFA before proceeding to Myanmar. So why would international community disregard the role of Asean. Why even drop by SG? or they should even talk to PRC first given their closed ties. Even PRC is not moving.

At the end of the day, Asean will remain one of the key grouping to help to resolve this crisi.

In brief Moral Authority -- the minute the military Junta start shooting they lost it already. The question is how do you transit these folks hand over the military uniform to wear a civilian ones. And slowly transit the regime.

Unless you want to eject the military by force than I suggest you stop talking about sanction without the threat of force.

" From internal source: It is heard that the junta has set a plot to assassinate the most senior venerable monks (Sanga Maha Naryaka) tonight as if it is done by the monks involved in the protest.

We still have live contacts in Burma. We are getting reports of a massacre at a temple last night, around 200 monks killed. We will try to confirm this as soon as possible.

They are arresting and imprisoning monks- so far over 700 have been arrested.
They have raided dozens of monasteries
While the regime is stating only 9 have been killed the number is far closer to 200
They have snipers on tops of buildings to pick of the leaders
They are trying to suppress the violence. "

There goes your peaceful protest. Not really gonna do much.

sbst275 SG

The boss has runned off?

Icemoon SG

Huh .. trying to paint a picture of monks killing monks? Confused

LazerLordz SG

Yes.

In fact, there have been reports of soldiers from the 22nd Division being tasked to act as agent provocateurs in order to stir up more trouble in Yangon and Mandalay.

The people involved in the '88 crackdown

TheGoodEarth SG

History is in the making.
But this is also history repeating.
What happens in Myanmar today, happened in Europe 200 years ago.
Just that Asia is backward!
Military is might! That's why every country, every gahmen, every ruler, every emperor has army.
Human will always kill human since Adam. We call ourselves intelligent but human is the only creature that kills it own kind!!!!

BadzMaro SG

It will be expected ... this kind of tactic is used favourably to give them a reason for crackdown. especially dealing with peaceful protest. they gonna make it not so peaceful. So why the peaceful protests from the beginning if they inevitably gonna get shut out. Now left small groups of protesters being chased around.

They dont need sanctions.. or aid... what the protesters need are Ak's , grenades and heavy machine guns!!! Mad

Icemoon SG

Yeah man .. storm the Bastilles and save Ms Suu Kyi and the NLD leaders!
