M©+square SG WE have seen many r/s failed in AA postings. None posted how wonderful their r/s are. And i almost could presume that people with successful r/s are not in sgforums. Let's share among the failures of relationship the worth of certain details that makes relationship works. In the end people always think of LOVe and it's meaning without realising LOVE is a will, force, motivation. But there are other ingredients - What are those? -Being always around for partner, thru good and bad times. -Accomodating -Trust -Compromising -Understanding -2 way Communication -Giving space -Give and take attitude -Forgiveness -Expressing views and setting goals right -Express Love for one another -Spending time together and learn new values -Respect -Get along well with Partner's Family -Enjoy good times -Unconditional Love -Acceptance -Effort by two parties to go thru hard times.
ahkico SG Be accomodatin to each other... Cannot always be the same person to give way lor... Sometimes u, sometimes the other party... Be trustin towards each other... Always let the other party know where u r... etc...
elindra SG Please note that it is not in order of importance 1. Trust 2. 2-way Communication 3. Putting yourself in your other half shoes 4. Giving each other personal space 5. Give and take 6. Able to trash things out and making it right 7. Being able to forgive each other and carry on with life together 8. Letting your other half know that you love and care for him/her (better by expressing by yr actions!) 9. Doing things / learning new things together 10. Fostering good relationship between both families. Not only yours but his/hers is equally important 11. Respect for each other
Nelstar SG Ingredients for success. The ability to hold on to the relationship by both parties even after weathering through the worst storms. The rest are talismans and essence to maintain a good relationship. A good relationship can still fail. Success don't come through have a good start.
Yunhaier SG The primary problem: People are too focus on what they can RECEIVE from a relationship than what they can GIVE. So much so that they failed to understand one principle: Seek to understand first than to be understood. This branch out to people who have given and was hurt: they fear and they avoid. This creates a secondary problem for themselves and enhance the primary issue. What makes a successful relationship? You have to first define what is successful? Is yours: 1) Marriage? 2) Length of time? 3) Amount of passion involved? Many people subconsciously uses length of time and marriage as a basis of a successful relationship; where behind the scene was nothing but a facade of happiness. If you gauge by passion - what if the other didn't return them? So do you considered a failed relationship even though you loved him/her so? And it is difficult to measure the quantity of passion/love - like a blind faith, you can only hold them in your heart and believe. A successful relationship is when THAT relationship brings a whole new form of lessons in your life - you must also acquire the learning process and gain wisdom out from it. If you are fooled by your first lover through sweet words and ended up with a shattered heart when the real jerk was revealed; you gain strength and wisdom to resist against flattery and flippant words - this is also a successful relationship. If you had not went through this process and learn through them, you cannot grow beyond a level and would always remain vulnerable. Successful relationship is about learning. If you talk about trust lar, communication lar, etc - its about a fulfilling relationship. P.S: It isn't surprising to know that some people (1) learn nothing-in-value from certain relationship even if they led them for long... (2) they thought they have learned, but their action revealed otherwise... (3) know about their flaws in handling relationship, but refuse to exercise improvement subconsciously. Cheers
Nelstar SG Hahahaha I oso donno what is love. I am too logical to make sense from some trivia stuff...
sayso SG Know the what it means to be in a relationship. Know what you want out of a relationship even before you consider one. Before you commit to a relationship, take time to know each other.
Mandark SG What makes a relationship successful is when SHE is fully subserviant Seriously though, when the two people are in tune with each other, they listen, they talk, they do things together...
M©+square SG WEll...the funny thing is. When Love is factored in, people becomes blind and excitement like mighty rush of water.
