Why no one pointed out the fact that people in western countries earn the same numerical amount in salary, but in euros?

Things are already cheaper after the conversion rate. Salary will then be considered doubled after conversion rate. Overall, life is actually much less stressful, and possibly cheaper, if you work and live overseas. (Added info, Germany's economy is 3rd largest in the world).

However, there is still something unexplained that make me want to stay in Singapore, and it is definitely not because of the costs of anything.

well, the problem is you want to start comparing on food unique to a region. And when you want to migrate, of course it would be best to 'migrate' your food preferences to the local staple food. Any food from your previous region would be a delicacy in your newly adopted country.

2) Distant between Singapore and Japan is about 5000km while distant between Germany and Norway is about 500km.

2) Agreed. However, you will need to take into account the higher transport and packing costs in Europe per km.

Salmon may not be a good example, but it seems like you would only bother to harp on this not-so-good example than all the many other points that I have raised

i had been in the IT industry for past 15 years and year by year, i can see more and more FTs coming in to replace singaporeans. and it is harder to find IT jobs especially when im hitting 40 and the playing field in the IT industry is not on the singaporean's side. especially when Govt policies and industrial demands are stacking the odds against singaporean IT professionals.

situations compelled me to move on rather than to wait die here.

Yes, your example is not a good indication that price of food in Germany is cheaper than Singapore.
