I know how you feel......whatever is done is done...no point
thinking about it, after all, most of us probably would not be
independent enough or had enough freedom to make our own decisions
when we were young, we just followed instructions and went through
the motions that is so 'uniquely' Sillyporean, pri sch, sec sch,
jc/poly, NS, uni, secure job, get married and contribute babies to
the little red dot....all the while being risk averse and stay
kiasu at the buffet table....
I don't regret NS as I did not have a choice.....what you can
decide is if you want your future kids, if they are boys, will
serve NS or not. Of course its a waste of time, but what's done is
done.....no point griping, move on and emigrate is what I always
say...just throw that discharge letter away...afterall, if there
are so many keen to imigrate to Sillypore from India and China, let
their children form the future army....as long as its not your kids
right? Remember you have a choice for your future, not your
past
