Care to elaborate what u meant? In Australia, like what u said when the Australian economy is not doing well, those local Australian will be prejudiced

against migrant who are most likely to be from the Asian region. In Spore, the local Chinese seemed to have heavy prejudiced against the PRC nationals who are of the same ancestral background. Not only that, some of the locals also have prejudiced against the those foreign professional for not serving NS.

There is no perfect solution but Spore is becoming like HK in which the fast paced life plus the small flat is causing more local to migrate to bigger

developed countries. In US, the subprime mortgage is causing many foreclosure of many houses. Maybe local considering migrating to US should make use of this chance to buy the houses since the prices has spiral downwards.

I would say Spore is definitely better than HK but aiya the two also small compared to the houses in Indonesia. HK people smart, buy houses n when

want to migrate to other countries, they sold their flat n bought big houses in US or Canada. The local also started to learn like HK, buy HDB n later sold it when they planned to migrate to other developed countries. Anyway US is a nice place to live in, 50 states to choose from n to our liking.

urm.....really? how many times have I heard chinese singaporeans calling indian singaporeans mangali ? In Primary and Secondary school in Singapore, I heard racist comments about other ethnic races. Face it - racism is everywhere- majority rules and my ethnicity aka chinese just happens to be the majority in Singapore . In Australia, it is the caucasians. As for me, I don't really care. I got sponsorship from a state government in Australia to do further study and I competed fairly against all applicants. It is all about opportunity and skills. If it was about skin color , it would automatically go to a caucasian , not me.

Not only U.S, Singapore needs everybody. We don’t the likes of say BHP Billiton to fund our economy. We need to attract MNCs, tourists, in short FDI. We import what we eat. All these are a reality we have to keep in mind and think about.

Just a quick question, given a choice, would you want to put your saving and investment in US$ or keep them in S$ now?

The Asia economy is still very dependend on USA economy, the largest economy in the world. I think (dont quote me) 25% of total China export goes to US, and 15% of Singapore total export to China also end up in US and US is also one of Singapore key trading partners especially for Semicon industry.

The importance of US economy to Singapore economy? Of course it is important, because they have been and still is one of the key driver of Asia economy growth, spreading from Japan to Middle East.

You lived in 35 countries for one year at least? Or you went to 35 countries for a holiday? Or you are 35 years old? Which is it?

I have actually lived in 3 countries for at least a period of 5 years or more. Australia and Singapore are not the only ones.

i know...TOO many people. goes off to country A for a 2 week holiday. come back, decided that it's the best place in the world and wants to move there for the rest of their lives.

esp if ur there for just a holiday....

and no matter how much u read or research on a certain place, it's never enough.
i lived in country A for 17 years.
and until today, im still learning new stuff about the culture, traditions etc about this country once in a while.

My point exactly to Gazelle. I recalled he just said that he went to Australia for a holiday and his stupid fiasco picking up some first class ticket stub to show everyone he went first class to Europe.

That is the trouble when people decide after a 2 week holiday without giving due consideration.

I stayed in Australia overseas for my degree after poly. Decided to go back to Singapore because evidently I thought it was home ,although my university offered me a scholarship to continue my studies. Returned to Australia eventually after I got permanent residency - have not regretted since. I only regret listening to and actually believing in Singaporean propanganda about being a second class citizen in another country for that period of my life when I return to Singapore.

fymk, stop give us all that stupid crap about free education, health and bla bla bla in Australia lah. Singaporeans are knowledgeable and well traveled enough to know that the reason you get them" free" is because you are paying taxes through your nose unless you are a beach bum living on welfare.

And just because your career didnt take off in Singapore that doesnt mean that Singapore is a lousy country. If you say its lousy, then why so many people are visting this tiny red dot?

And just because you are living in Australia that doesnt make you are more knowledgeable person. If you want to promote australia, please come out with something new lah...and not the usually free education welfare etc..we already know it is not free.
