China sees itself moving in
Singapore's direction ?
Either old Lee must be so high up in his pedestal that he cannot
see his host blowing hot air up his ass for a purpose, or Gazelle
is attempting to blow hot air to raise a mountain of crap from a
mole-hill ?
LKY must have been travelling for so long - {a week ago in India,
this week in China} - did he miss the news about China's White Paper for a more inclusive political
system ?
Surely LKY must have missed the part about China's unwillingness to
follow a Westerminister style adverserial political system, nor
Singapore's monopolistic ONE Party system - but instead has
preferred a system that includes all political parties {including
the Kuomintang} to participate in the governing of the country -
all under the leadership of the present Communist Party of
China.
For once, Lim Swee Say is able to say something sensible
-
''Minister in the Prime
Minister's Office Lim Swee Say added that the Chinese leaders are
prepared to go above and beyond to realise their long term goals,
even if it means treading in uncharted waters. ''
China's move to reform its political
system is surely bringing them into uncharted waters - and they are
surely prepared to go above and beyond to realise their LONG TERM
GOALS.
In his old age, and after so much accolade showered onto him, is MM
LKY getting too conceited to be taking himself so seriously and
will believe that China will be moving in Singapore's direction -
politically, ideologically, socially ?
What is the basis with his statement being quoted as -
''Through these efforts, he said,
the Chinese are adapting
and adopting fast because they see themselves moving
in Singapore's direction.''
Yes, the Chinese are adapting and
adopting fast, and see themselves moving in Singapore's direction -
ONLY - insofar as economics is concerned.
In less then 30 years, China's Reserves has surpassed that of
Singapore's Reserves - which began when Singapore was kicked out of
Malaysia in 1965.
China certainly is learning fast, adopting and adapting what
Singapore has done, and attempting to make a better model for
themselves - and surely China has learnt from mistakes made by Singapore's
Temasek.
Will Singapore benefit from the proposed eco-city project ?
Judging by the dumb politicians attempting to play entrepreneur
with public funds, we may see yet another Suzho disaster.
This project is nothing more then another exercise at ''transfer of technology'' - that will
allow China's brilliant force of engineers to make a quantum leap
in absorbing knowledge and experience from Singapore based
companies - without the need to spend a yuan, nor an iota of
time.
China has absorbed all the technologies that it can get from all
the foreign manufacturing facilities that offers critical high-tech
products. From a list, these include some of the following :
Acer, Airbus, A.T & T, BELL, Caltex, CAT,
Chrysler, Daimler, Glaxo, Hewlett-Packard, Honda, IBM, ITT, Lucent
Tech, Matsush.ita, Mitsubishi, Motorola, Nokia, Omron, Phillips,
Samsung, Sanyo, Shell, Siemens, Sony-Ericsson, Toshiba, Toyota,
Unisys.
The experience, technology and knowledge gained will be helping
China's effort to put their man on the moon, as matters stand -
they have just sent an observatory satellite to study the landscape
of the moon.
China will go on its own direction, and it is sheer vanity to
believe that it is moving in Singapore's direction.
Too much sniffing on crap can affect the thinking faculty...
