One thing good about postgraduate degree is that you get to meet people from other sectors. So if you go for MBA, you have stories to tell; other have stories to tell. By sharing war stories, everyone gains valuable experience.

But these are the rare ones.

I am not saying that all schoolars are a like not good at business.

on hindsight, you can jolly say billy could easily have a PhD.

The fact is, when he succeeded or invented, he was a dropout.

the message I have is, classroom teachings cannot teach life skills like how to handle uncertainties and stress and etc etc. Like, what steps to follow to become successful ?

Now, the answer is still pending for who came out and ran own business successfully and earned more than he / she did when part of the whities.

There is no convincing answer thus far.

'cos classroom teachings teach different things mah. cannot compare.

but then who says school doesn't teach uncertainties and stress? just that when there is uncertainty, students complain. like if server goes down during module bidding, students kaopeh. the school could have said "don't wait till last minute to do your stuff", but students will say they pay school fees liao cannot like that.

about stress, dont need to say lah. School is stressful. but when you have parents complaining PSLE too hard for their kids, what to do?

one thing good about school is it is an environment for failing. the school can fail you once, but you have a second chance to succeed. but if you cant be bothered and *surrender*, as a result still fail subsequently, who is to blame?

I will not dispute with what you said because you have a point.
However, what is taught does not mean what can be mastered or learnt.
How do I explain best...

Example : Class is called : 'How to become successful in Business or Life.'

After attending and passing the written paper exam and scored 100%,
does this mean the person in reality in practical world also will certainly be successful?

What i'm trying to say is that they were by no means weak academically, its just that they chose to drop out from school to pursue their own interests.

That is right. Exams are not a good gauge of one's ability.

That's why your grade is spread across assignments, projects, practical tests, presentations etc.

you have to understand lah, schools need to teach things which can be accredited. so instead of teaching you 'how to be successful in biz', you need to know:

1. how to read financial statements and work them out.
2. the various biz models, like B2B, B2C etc.
3. marketing strategies
4. economics (and the accompanying maths .. yucks!)
5. linear regression
6. etc.

just remember, you are taught those skills (if you pay attention in class).

whether you mastered and learnt them, you will only know if you make good use of them.

do you know any such talents that exit from whities and without any help, but purely on their own , created a business that brings them more fortune than what the salary many many that they get by being an employee of white?

Also, did any of these who 'came out' and got hired and earning much more than their salary many many as a white employee?

If your point is that the salaries of the ministers are too high and they may not get the same salary elsewhere then just say that. What for beat around the bush and go into something totally irrelevant like setting up a business and succeeding like Bill gates ? If that is your point then there are threads around that insinuates that already.

If you are however in the "so what if you are a graduate thing", there is also an existing thread already. So what is it you want ?
