Amazing 90% rejected the annuity policy. 66.6% voted for them. Now possibly a huge chunk of them is unhappy. What is the PAP going to do? Dump this policy and lose face? Or push through no matter what and lose more votes in the next GE? Or lower the payout age again to 75 years? It’s anyway a bad, bad, bad period for them. Tsk!

I was just back from Japan, there I understand that the govt provides free cod liver oil capsules for citizens above a certain age, for their good health
They also provide free health capsules for kids below a certain age for their development.

All these are for free.

The Govt there, despite an aging population, doesn't, like our govt does, hope the old wither and die quickly...

This country is all about money, nothing else.

The old are a burden and non productive to our quest of higher GDP and other world no.1. If your dog is old and unproductive, doesn't guard the gate like it used to. To a owner who emphasizes on productivity and higher GDP, don't you think the owner will put the dog to sleep.

There is something inherently wrong with a regime whose sole objective is always on growth and higher GDP.
