how the low income singaporean going to pay for this.... i think more of a way to stop ppl from owing them the payment so that they can cut off electricity easily and tracking them.... smart move again without having a care for the lower income group... i think for those elder ppl living alone 1 need to live in dark... and fire i think i coming on the way

The oni way to save electricity cost is don't use electricity. So shut down ur fridge, switch off ur light at night, turn off ur tv. Welcome to the world of darkness..... There's no point debating about this new scam... we all know how & WHO this will benefit..

first off... were all the others like CPF, Medisave, ERP, etc., successful & beneficial to all of us?

It will be the same old come up short in the long run & implement something else to shore it up like CPF's Annuity, Medisave's mediocre $300 per year coverage for outpatient treatments, etc...

In end, we just end up paying more and more that's all...

Since there isn't any announcement that the bill will be lowered, let''s not talk about thing which haven't materialized yet.

So to us, the general public, I don't see there any actual benefit from this scheme and the only parties to benefit from this scheme are the electricity vendors.

If a family is living on a tight budget, the existing scheme at least give them some breathing space as they can delay their payment. With this new scheme, your power is immediately cut off if you don't have any money to pay for your electricity bill.

Talking about no printing of paper bills., if this has been the purpose, the biller can just email the bill to us (using service like vpost). So it's obvious this is not the reason. Rolling Eyes

another example of why this government needs a kick in the nuts because they are not interested in providing services (in this case essential services) with a focus on providing service instead of trying to maximize profits.

Step by step… first they tell you that you have a choice and after people begin to trust them…. they pull the rug from under you…. no more choice and you get your electricity cuts off immediately… unless you put in more than enough and they keep the funds…. not like we have never seen it before… please don;t be so naive… they only way left is to support Dr Chee Soon Juan’s cause.

You are right, last time I took a 10 year loan and the flat was cheap, and now our children have to take 30 year loan and pay and pay, the flat is 100 times more expensive
