airgrinder SG right intention, wrong method. Sometimes, I wondered what's his real intention, is it really for the burmanese or trying to publicise himself...
TheGoodEarth SG hahaha.... that is your conclusion and linkage. Even if you want to be good or a hero, you also need guts! How many a times, I see people who knew what is right but shrunk when asked to make a stand or become dumb when asked to speak up! I much prefer a gutsy fool than a cowardly smart!
the Bear SG the brave know the need and have the courage to do things the stupid do things even when there is no need...
HyperFocal SG Don't misunderstand his endeavours... ..you'd be surprised to see the truly STUPID ones when we look in our mirrors...
LazerLordz SG You like or hate him, at least he's still ensuring the Burmese situation gets some airtime. The only stupidity in this world is when you think your views are the only truth, and refuse to be flexible in dealing with issues, rather than focusing on the character you love to hate.
t_a_s SG what is the use of publicise himself, he can't even stand for election, he wanted to defend democracy just like JBJ, never give up,not like majority of Singaporeans who are selfish, kiasi, kiasu , ke kiang, ke poh, ke ke
LazerLordz SG He's not a politician with Parliamentary ambitions. What he desires is beyond that, and is abstract, which I'm told many Singaporeans do not have a keen ability to appreciation (abstractions, not Parliament). Anyone must be blind if they think he wants to be an MP. Chee is an activist first and foremost. As for being Sec-Gen of the SDP, that is merely secondary.
the Bear SG don't grant him things he is unable to carry... he's an idiot, and someone who brings SHAME to the country.. he has broken every single thing which a DIGNIFIED person will not do against his country... his attacks have been against SINGAPORE, not just the gabrament.. learn and understand the difference.. your enemy's enemy may not be your friend
LazerLordz SG The enemy of my enemy may not be my friend, but he is still useful if kept at arms' length. Like I said, it's a game of perceptions. It doesn't matter what any individual, especially the man in the street with little diffusable leverage think. Weberian politics requires the population to be easily convinced that particular tall poppies be labelled in a zero-sum fashion as a kook. Now while Chee's has his negative moments, let us not always diverge into the muddy waters of the big picture, oft-repeated ad naseum by those chaps you love to call the gabrament. The issue here is the parallels/interaction between the Burmese junta and the role, much unsaid as it has been; of our cheng-hu. The only matter is the mileage and the vehicle for garnering that mileage.
