Toyota Altis or Hyundai Matrix

i considering to get one this coming apr. but the altis and matrix is abt 10K different.

i been checking e reviews for these 2 cars and got some general feedback on it.

matrix: high fuel consumption, low power.. cannot travel at high speed.

altis: so far so good. except that it is also high fuel consumption.
but e price for altis, i can get honda or mitshibishi already..

can anyone give me some advise on this? i don't want to commit myself into e car and then regret for 10 yrs....

drove a matrix b4....... the pickup is reaaaaaaaaally slow... but its better as a family type car...

Altis' fuel consumption shouldn't be that bad considering its also powered by the VVTi engine.... the jap model can hit about 13 - 14km per litre.... Altis looks and feel more luxurious and has a betta image...

but then again, Matrix is the top selling model in its league... so there must be something...

me too don't trust korean cars... even the sales person also tell me will have problems..

I would go for the Altis too. Just got my Altis on 9th Jan after scrapping Hyundai Accent. My brother-in-law is complaining abt his Matrix saying that it is under-powered and fuel consumption is high. My current usage for the Altis is abt 11-12 km/litre. Overall the car is quiet and stable. Maybe you should go and test-drive both cars to feel the difference. Overall I prefer Altis.

i will prefer the altis as well...nicer, more fuel efficient, more reliable, better engine, more power. Altis is also a family saloon, not just the matrix....
matrix is cheaper though...

ultimately the choice is yours..if you have the money, go for altis.
if you are tight at hand, but need a car desparately, then chose matrix.

well, at first i was thinking more on e matrix but when i saw e news on the altis, it starting to get into me.

will definitely test drive on both. thanks for all e advise.

considering a 1.6 car.. 11-12 km/l is not very high fuel consumption.. but the fuel tank is big.. Very Happy

I’d go 4 Toyota Altis… Im workin in a car environment. So personally feel tat Altis is a better choice. E engine assembly wil b better loh, n itz silent too. It oso doesnt consume too much fual, compared 2 matrix, in fact better than hyundai cars…

the resale value of a toyota is always better than a korean make. you may want to take this into account if you do not want to kep the matrix for long.

actually i thought of opting for toyota vios also. its abt 10K diff compare to the altis. but i heard a lot of ppl telling me that the vios is much smaller and some other problems.

don't really like honda city....

any advise?

Actually, one of the reason I don't kinda like Altis is becos the car model has been in M'sia for abt 2 yrs already, only now than in S'pore. Not too sure why.

But if you compared the 2, no doubt i'll go for an Altis.

Actually, for the price paid, Honda City is not such a bad car afterall. Esp that it can be fit with kits that make it look sportier.

altis is the BEST!! Spacious, smooth and a class of its own.. Looks sporty if u doll it up too..
