The political situation is so pathetic and hopless in Singapore that anyone who has the courage to join politics as a opposition member and stand up against the PAP clique commands my respect.

It is easy to be a dog of the PAP clique and have an easy entry into politics, but most consider joining opposition as a hopeless cause.

Mr JBJ? To be fair, neither "proteges" of Mr JBJ or Mr Chiam (Mr LTK and Dr CSJ respectively) "bit" anyone's "hand".

Both resigned willingly from their leadership posts and the party except that Mr Chiam had at a point been expelled (and reinstated by the courts until his resignation).

With due respect to both gentlemen and their contributions to advance the opposition cause, both spoke negatively of their organisations and that would warrant an expulsion anywhere if this was a commercial entity involved. Imagine if SGX's Mr Hsieh Fu Hua spoke badly about Mr J Y Pillay to the press.

What is "the hand which fed you"? Whatever it is, what LTK did was no mistake, it is a sacrifice, a word not found in PAP vocabruary. Mr. Green He, Sylvia and the WP are the voices of Singaporeans needed very badly to balance the one sided government mouthpiece; they are the credible opposition Singaporeans are looking for; so far they are the only potential balance of political power that Singapore can hope for; they are the pain in the neck to the PAP and their supporters.

More people care for them than you can imagine. Smile

I had met him personally. He is firm and very friendly. He don't look pretentious, unlike the ruling party. From the report of his performance, I am sure he can qualify as a Minister. But he choses otherwise. More reason to respect him !! I salute you Mr Low !! btw, why the " bite the hand which fed you "?
