AndrewPKYap SG Ministers from the 10-nation Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), meeting at the UN headquarters in New York, "were appalled to receive reports of automatic weapons being used and demanded that the Myanmar government immediately desist from the use of violence against demonstrators, " Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo said. Are they hypocritical? political exile Francis Seow: Bankrupted to keep him out of parliament and to silence him: Can we trust hypocrites? What else are they hiding from the people beside taking excessive amounts of public money for their own use?
AndrewPKYap SG Things might look rosy now, like NKF during its heyday. Will it all collapse like the NKF? We have to keep a watchful eye on hypocritical people and send in a few more opposition people into parliament to look over their shoulders kick out a few ministers now and again to show them we are not fools.
Hello Kitty SG whr got same. the level of physical violence, in myanmar, is beyond humane acceptance liao.
Hello Kitty SG bt psychologically speekin, a scene of mental torment does nt affect an audience to dis extent.
Hello Kitty SG eh. internal politics aside, wud u rather spore govt remain silent? me wud hv been so ashamed if they had done so.
maurizio13 SG If the demonstration in Singapore reaches the level of Burma, then I guess our government will do the same and call in the riot police. If they don't intend to use riot police, then what's the point of having this unit in the first place. But demonstration in Singapore won't reach levels of Burma, because they made a gathering of more than 5 people an unlawful assembly. Moreover, most of the people in Singapore kiasi.
walesa SG It's nothing compared to Tiananmen in '89. Then again, it's not the magnitude that's baffling, is it? Rather, it's the extreme measures to which despots and tyrants would resort to dispel peaceful, non-violent demonstrations that has hogged the international spotlight. Perhaps, it's high time the international community paid close attention to the other criminals that, through direct and indirect dealings, help sustain such rogue regimes.
AndrewPKYap SG It is the suppression of free speech and the right to assemble peacefully that is obnoxious and one of the favorite tactics employed by despots refusing to die and taking massive amounts of public money. It does not matter if it is in the form of this: or this:
Hello Kitty SG oh ya hor. n hw can dat b compared to the nanking massacre hor. eh. we tokin abt nw lah.
(human) SG PAP is suppressing peaceful demonstrators themselves and George Yeo(PAP) has the cheek to ask Myanmar government not to suppress their people?
AndrewPKYap SG and at the UN some more.... the world leaders listening must be going How come they can be so shameless?
kramnave SG There weren’t any act of violence on Singapore’s part. I don’t think Chee Siok Chin was shot, hit or even scratched.
