What if merely the top 10% income earners donate their 1 days', just merely only 1 days' worth of salary to president star harity?

That will solve all mother of all problems of donation right?

if average salary $300K a month, 1 day is $10K leh. instead of asking each of the poor 90% donate littlt bit by little bit, their 10K a shot is enough to donate on behalf of say 10K people of the 90% right?

Why should singapore charity have ANY money problem given the elites are so loving, caring, honest, and rich?

aiya, our govt hordes the reserves like its their own money.
The reserves is sooooo precious that they refuse to use it, and rather force more out of us.

To me, no charity donations, coz
(1) You are just encouraging the govt to do less, since you do for them
(2) You do not know whether these charities are true or not.

If you really want to donate, I think choosing a particular hospice, old folks' home, orphans' home and donate directly will be better.

you did not hear wrongly, it is true. Of course, the singtel can afford, they are rich. They are rich by over charging subscribers. Just to side track a little. I signed up for the promotional plan and the plan is about $32/$33 per month and entitle to one month's free subscription. They sent me the bill and the charge is $100+. I was so infuriated. I called and talked to the customer service staff politely and the staff was so rude so I told him off and he shouted at me. Damn really lousy service Singtel is providing. They are just like their master PAP, sucking money unnecessarily.

etc

i think any of these activities are better than watching this stupid president start charity

It's ironic that in the end, charities involving the president will go fulll circle and hinge on the exhorbitant pay of the most expensive 'prata man'.

'Donate generously' they say (govt), but hey, paying themselves millions instead of putting any of it into a needy fund has never been raised as a viable alternative.

Funny how our absurb system works. Still, can't take away the fact that there are some MPs and ministers who indeed contribute generously....
