Today, I approached my elder brother to borrow an Economics book he had. The author was some Parkins guy. Upon handing me the book, my brother said, "This is an excellent book. For thinking students."

For THINKING students.

Does he look down on JC students or what. Rolling Eyes

Are we looked down upon... since nowadays a polytechnic education seems to offer more? Neutral

i don't know leh, but he never seems to think much of JC students. he firmly stands by his view that a poly education trains students to be much better and more all-rounded people..

what is happening (i see it myself) is that the poly students are usually left to "fend for themselves" to sink or swim...

while the JC students (supposedly with better results) are spoon-fed and made to mug like hell... the syllabus and grading is such that it rewards mindless regurgitation and memorisation...

they're trying to change that but it ain't happenin'...

myself, i regret not taking a stand and going to poly... even tho' i was qualified to go to NJC..

oh well.. life goes on...
