What is the meaning of Expressway?

If it is really an expressway, how come we are still seeing drivers cruising on 1st land and refusing to give way to faster traffic?

Maybe LTA should consider renaming lane 1 and call it the express lane and mark it with a letter E at every 200m to remind road user they are driving on the express lane.

What is your preferred speed for ''faster traffic'' ?

''1st land'' ?

LKY has claimed Singapore to be the First World for himself and his Family; is the infamous Gazelle now claiming that the ''1st land is for his exclusive speeding above cruising speed'' ?

Maybe LTA should consider renaming lane 1 and call it the express lane and mark it with a letter E at every 200m to remind road user they are driving on the express lane.

Maybe URA and LTA should consider marking out GE for Lane 1 on the 1st Land - to remind road users that they are driving in a lane for speeding Gazelles ?

During Peak Hours - if drivers do not want a Gazelle to charge up to their rear ends, all should make way for the Gazelle nose growing larger in their rear view mirrors. Mr. Green

This is singapore.

In Germany, expressways are with 2 lanes. People usually travel on the inner lane, unless they want to overtake. After overtaking, they go back to the inner lane. And pls, I'm not talking about time periods where there are jams or heavy traffic

As you have said, we have 4 lanes, so how difficult it is to assign lane 1 to be a express lane specially dedicated to people who want to get from point A to point B in the shortest possible time?

I am not suggesting that there will be no speed limit on the express lane but what I am suggesting is that you should give way to faster traffic regardless of what speed you are traveling.

Actually our expressways are a farce.
With an exit every 1 to 1.5 km apart it is more of a short cut than an expressway.
I use the PIE as a short cut from Bedok Reservoir to Telok Kurau.
