So nowadays, the recruits in BMT must be having a very good life. Especially the obese company.

If you are the trainer, you will be too scare to push them, in case they also collapse and die. Wonder what our army will become? Rolling Eyes

Don't train them hard, they will be useless as Solider.
Train them hard..... and they drop like flys

But I'm more worry about the possibitly that S'porean could be suffering from a type of unknown Heart condition due to the S'pore environment, like - life style, stress, food, weather.... etc Sad

I still cannot understand why a young 25 year old soldier can die so easily after a run.

Last time such news are rare. Nowadays its very common to hear of running deaths of healthy young people. Not sure why. Or is it that last time also have but somehow 'forgotten' to report?

What does the medical experts have to say?

the majority has a perception of 'the more the better'

as a result they chiong and chiong. because they are young and naturally stronger, they don't feel much of a diff when they exceed their safe limit. and so everything just gives way suddenly when they tried to push again.

in the context of sports science, there's a training princple which is 'progressive overload' and this refers to training beyond threshold levels but within safety limits. obviously these people who died has crossed that limit.

i’ve participated in last year’s AHM 21km, somehow it always amuses me that i keep seeing those well built and tanned fellows (I remember seeing a guy from ADF) sitting on the pavement groaning about cramps.
