Damn, even politicians (some) do. Do what? They let others judge
their work. No chef worth his salt will praise his own food; he
lets an esteemed food critic do that. No artist praises his own
scultpre; he lets a renowned art critic do that. But not
Singapores Peoples Action Party.
As reported in

Senior Minister Goh CT said In my view, the PM (LHL) was being very brave in
tackling the issues raised during the National Day Rally. These
issues of ageing, the deferment of the draw down age of CPF from 62
to 65, are very sensitive and unpopular issues. Very few prime ministers in the world
would address issues that are way beyond (their) political
(lives) because it doesnt benefit (them) in any way. But this is
not the way Singapore operates. It is not the way which Lee Kuan
Yew operated, not the way
which I operated, and very happily it is not the way which
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong
operates.
As you can see, its not just one sychophantic colleague praising
another, but SM Goh also praises himself. Sometimes, its possible
to be so full-of-it that you cant see the s h i t stuck to your
body, isnt it?
Singapore needs a change, but who doesn't know that?
Only those left unappreciated will
have to praise their own works, as no one else can support their
acts.
For SM GCT to suddenly appear to come to the defense of PM
LHL,seems to be a sign that the strawpolls taken have reflected a
serious dip in the popularity ratings for LHL after his speech at
the National Day Rally.
The issues of ageing has been writings on the wall since the 1980s
- and earlier, unless GCT is claiming that LKY and himself has
neglected this issue during their own terms as PM ?
More then 20 years have passed, the issue of the ageing population
and CPF remained to bug Singaporean politics, and the CPF continue
to be tinkered around to prevent Singaporean Aged to realise their
own savings.
Meanwhile, the Government will continue to increase prices that
affect the costs of living, making the present costs to be the
highest in 12 years; negating even the best efforts to preserve the
CPF values in the low interest paid to existing balances.
Is GCT comparing the Singapore PM to the other Third World Prime
Ministers who will not dare to handle such hot issues, as it is
obvious that in the Third World countries the Political Leadership
are busy finding ways how to milk the political system to their own
benefit.
Very few Prime Ministers in the World has to handle such a hot
potato as these are non-issues in other countries in the First
World, as the Government has a program to look after their Citizens
from cradle to grave - [Scandinavian and Nordic Countries of
Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland; EU Countries especially
Switzerland].
Clearly, SM GCT has forgotten the efforts of PM Blair of UK - and
his earlier predecessors - in reforming the British Welfare System,
as well as the leadership of the USA, France and Germany ?
Clearly, GCT had attempted to blow his trumpet to a small audience
in this small room - some of whom is unfamiliar with better
sounding music other than what is allowed for them to
hear.
