Welfare is a safety net. One should never rely on state welfare alone. Do you really think someone will quit a SGD 7000 (example) to get SGD 500 welfare?

I agreed in here lifestyle is peaceful but u can never strike a fortune.
During the May 1998 riot in Indonesia, a lot of Chinese Indonesian

escaped to other countries including here but shortly after that, many of them started to go back to Indonesia.

If you value your life & your familes ones more than $$$.... then of course S'pore is better. But if $$$ is more important, then you will have to take risk. But it could be just as unsafe in S'pore.

I, myself, prefer a peaceful life.... then one fill with excitiment. Mr. Green Maybe getting old already... hehehe.

Same with 1997 Hong Kong handover, I have some relatives who migrated to Singapore. But a few years after the handover, he went back to Hong Kong to work, because he said it's easier to make money in Hong Kong than Singapore.

The similary thing about HK n Spore is there is political stability.
Indonesian also like Malaysian attracted by higher currency came to here to

work, if u noticed last time plenty of Malaysian working in Spore. Indonesian also following suit. U go around Shenton, observe the no of foreign professionals.

I want to point out for Indonesian. Working in this country will make our resume look very good though.

Does anyone here feel that citizenship here is easy to get? anyone who can find a job here seems to qualify as ft and that means can be PR and that means can be citizen? is it? And can apply and get it in such short time?

Wow, is it much easier than Australia, USA and anywhere else in the world?

Singapore has become a magnet for rejects for migrants intending to migrate to 1st world country. Take a ride on the MRT anytime and you will see the quality of foreign talents that Singapore is attracting. The kind of migrants we attract are PRC, Indian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, etc....... maybe the occasional filthy rich westerners or the misinformed westerners.
