I attended a major midwestern university in the US back in the
early 90s.
I was a member of the campus' Singapore Students' Association
during that time, and we typically had about 20 members each
semester. The new arrivals would usually indicate a strong desire
to return to Singapore at the conclusion of their studies, but
almost all of them would apply for jobs in the US following their
graduations, and most of them would get hired.
Not sure if the same situation is still happening now at other
universities here.
