Don't forget that when a country's leaders repeatedly claim to their citizens that they are the talents deserved to be paid the world's highest salaries etc, then the expectations of the people will correspondingly be set higher.

People in such a country where leaders keep boasting about their superiority will not accept a marginal performance like 51% good versus 49 % bad. They are justified to criticize such government of failure to deliver an excellence performance like 90% good and 10% bad.

So such leaders who claimed to be the world's best cannot rely on excuses like comparing with the worse countries or other mediocre standards elsewhere and certainly they will not be allowed to put the blame on patients with many excuses like misuse of A&E to avoid answering to such expectations to solve such mundane problems.

The above absolutely makes sense. A PM who gave himself so much increment, his performance must be 90% to 95% excellent. Mediocre performance is not accepted. Did this present PM reflect on his performance before giving himself so much increment (undeserved)?

With that sort of pay they are getting and they way they project themselves, it is justified for the people of singapore to expect 90% to 95% excellent performance from the present ruling party.

If can't attain, then it is better for them not to receive such huge lump sum of pay. In Chinese, we say "mei you na mo da de tou jiu bu yao dai na mo dai de mao zhi"! Laughing

hello, there are always so many people here in speakers' corner, may be you have not noticed it that is all.

Never mind, how many people are here, the most important is we are here to discuss, make our views and concerns known. As you can see majority are here for discussion but there are some who come here for some bootlicking business. Especially these several days, you get to read those coming here to voice their displeasure, those who when question can't give the answers and those who are angry with their fellow Singaporeans voicing out how the govt treat the people and run the country.

and he is made the new MP, so from my cousin who stays in that estate he is the MP, said he is ???? not outstanding, new and yet doesn't bother to build rapport with the residents there by going for house visits. Khaw boon wan did a better job than him.
