leo-kun SG why must they go for prayers on fri noon when they only come back after lunch time? why cant they pray on sat or sun?????
zaxis SG what about they illegal parking along the road. although could be 30 minute, but still causing obstruction. is it most enforcement officer are praying too? would like to check if they display parking coupon too @ proper parking lots.
elindra SG Their Sabbath is on Friday. To the Muslims, I believe they were informed that Allah decided that Friday should be their Sabbath. Also Friday is a special day for Muslims because: Allah created Adam on Friday. Adam entered paradise on Friday. He and his wife Eve landed on this planet earth on Friday. He died on Friday. Friday is a blessing and a sacred day. The doors of Heaven are open of Friday white the doors of Hell are closed. Prayers and supplication (Du 'a') are accepted on Friday. The day of Friday is a day of Peace where all animals, birds and insects say "Peace" on that day. They also believe that Judgement Day will take place on Friday. Non-Muslims made their own decisions as to Saturday and Sunday.
leo-kun SG oh ok now i understand but why pray during lunch time and eat into office hour? cant they pray after work?
spikey83 SG wat kind of qns is this ? catch no [email protected] lah.... you will get yourself flamed if any hardcore muslims were to read tis... do not generalise becoz of one bad apple.... back to your qns... this is probably due to the lack of car parking space within vivinity of the mosques... unlike most churches where they have their own multi storey car park... something the authority might want to take a look at it... from my observation, these mosques are either located by the roadside or secluded thus finding a valid parking space is an issue... I believe that this does not only constraint to fri afternoon only...just take a look at those illegal parking cars near the coffeeshops everyday...im sure u can spot at least one... i think that singaporeans generally dun like to put coupons... i am no exception.. TS should provide some solutions to tackle the issues instead of ranting about them.... just my two cents worth... peace
Wreckers SG Friday prayer. Simple. It's for Muslim men. Which can be Malay, Indian, Chinese, German, Japanese, African, Arab, etc.
jeg SG You obviously do not have a clue about religious tolerance. In some muslim countries, fridays are non working days. If you were working in a country where the majority pray on friday and work on saturday/sunday but you have to pray on saturday/sunday what would you do?
Wreckers SG So? We are not allowed to pray on Friday just because Singapore is not an Islamic state? We have been doing this during the British and Japanese times and not much problems created, i don't see why this need to be asked. Question to TS, u have problems with muslim men going to Friday prayers?
jeg SG he obviously does.... tsk tsk he probably thinks muslim men go to pray on friday during office hours so that they can escape from work and come back later then everybody else after lunch.
elindra SG Already say it is their sabbath Sabbath is the day of rest and worship But in Singapore, Friday is a work day so this is like a compromise.
