I wonder if local should take part in a poll on how good their govt is like in other countries?

just curious. so ppl some support all opposition.

must ppl support either wp or sdp.

wp supporters see sdp as being too extremist.

sdp supporters see wp as too closely aligned with govt.

so far, performance is not up to mark but then all of us can only suck thumb, become singapore sleepers one day and then feel LPPL cause they will be voted in once again because of the pre-election goodies.

I think Lee Hsien Yang stay with businesses better. He doesn't lack leadership qualities though.

no that's not what i mean. whenever our economy turns bad, its always due to external influences like US demand fall but never due to poor govt stewardship. but whenever economy picks up, its never due to US demand recovery but due to good, sound govt strategies. with this kind of excuses, who can't do as well?

even chee soon juan, armed with this sort of excuses, can never fail.

Frankly lah, I feel LHL is just working under dad's instructions, guidance and rules... Nothing more....

Since when has he or have they owned up to anything negative economically? They only wanna reap credecntials and credits for ALL positives!

There are lots of capable people around, but NO ONE will rise up from the woodworks knowing the way the gov deals with 'REAL competititors'.

Look at Sylvia, she can cut through with her words, but she seldom speaks as I'm very sure she is aware and is just bidding for time - the right time...

Here's my observation; if they can't "buy" over people who has the ability to outwit and out-talk them, they will ultimately murder their opponents politically...

It is either this or that, doesnt this sound familiar? Military style? It is just plain fact that he just doesnt have the sort of calibre and intelligence to manage to be the PM. So we gotta swallow bitter pill for the fact that he is being paid super high salary. No calibre, no intelligence to manage, passion to serve people and reaching down to the level of common people are questionable base on all these he just dont seem to deserve $3.1m. He is simply earning easy $$$. Taxpayers work hard to pay him $3.1m, what a pain!!

Nothing more to add. The things he says are like jokes, the more you hear the more bored and disgusted you get.

What he says so far, the ordinary folks can also say and suggest. He is nothing outstanding; in fact he does not display the sort of qualities and ex-factor for a position as a PM. May be it is because of his background. His predecessors labour, and he is enjoying the fruit of their labour now. He is the luckiest man in politics in Singapore.

I did not vote for him. And PAP did not ask the public’s opinion. So is he Singapore’s Prime minister or is he PAP’s prime minister. If he’s Singapore’s Prime Minister then there’s no need to raise the GST and Bus Fares. People will have a stable job and moreover at least every individual family will haf a house to live in and not tentages along East Coast Park and in Trucks load with family members living in.

Our ministers? Aside from giving inept excuses for raising their pay, what else have they done?

I believe in what my dad said. Should we one day wake up, and our ministers are wiped out, contrary to what LKY said, I don't think we will become maids and labourers. Our civil service, being so well-oiled, will continue to run until a new cabinet is setup.
