Should PRs say the pledge?

Should PRs say this pledge also? They are not citizens anyway.

If they say the pledge, are they going to fight for Singapore? If not, why bother singing national anthemn and pledge when they are only here to earn something out of the singapore system and migrate elsewhere where they can earn a good income and a better lifestyle far better than Singapore. And moreover, PR are a damn traitors to our country. Never trust them.

PR as in those who have blue IC? Some schools do consider them as Singaporeans.... so by laws.... they have to recite the pledge and sing the national anthem.

If those on international passes, no need. Just stand at attention will do.

all the more so when they are permanent residents, they have a stake in the society ...

The Singapore Plege is simple yet carry some powerful words it doesn't necessary reflect that to any political afliation.

It doesn't matter if they become citizen. At least it helps to assimulate the younger generation to be part of the main stream singaporean. Parent would get to know if not other wise. I learned that one can lived in Singapore and not known Singapore. At the end of the day if the younger generation become citizen great if they don't move on. No harm done.

There are alot of childern of expat who studied and grew up in Singapore that I came across that eventually return to Singapore to work. They contribute either later part of their lives or become more Asian. More so they contribute to other part of the world.

Do you ever remember watching a movie about the Jamica Snow slate team that participate in the winter olympic.

The coach grew up in Singapore and had studied in Singapore American School.

What's the point...even me, as an ex-sillyporean....didn't even bother about the pledge....its just something I recited in pri and sec sch so as not to get into trouble....Don't know about you, but I know many sillyporeans who are just working hard and waiting get out..to them, loyalty does not exist....Sillypore is just a hotel for some of us....transit point....whether PRs say it or not is not going to have a big impact....better to focus on bigger things than small things like these.
