Guys, think we have to understand the Govt mentality that the
only resources S'pore has are our people.
We know that all country govts is out there to milk everything out
of the country during the period that the rule and hopefully pass
something to the voters just before the next election. For most
countries, there are some natural resources like agriculture or
minerals. The S'pore Govt is no different in behaviour and will
want to milk as much out of the resources of S'pore (ie, the
people) as possible before the next election.
Having got the fruits, then the Govt will plan and execute
something out to boost its standing in ruling the country and just
before election, will pass some of the goodies back to the
voters.
This has been the vicious cycle of democracy that we see worldwide
and how the system works.
So you either work with the system or try the system somewhere
else!
