If noodle stalls increase 50cents, then I order mee pok da, mai hiam, mai mee.

One nasi lemak stall increased the standard meal set by 50cents to $3.......next thing the stall owner realised was the dinner time queue has became much shorter.

I doubt they will succeed in encouraging PRs to become citizens. More and more are already giving up PR here after discovering how costly it is to live here - and also an expensive government that can become corrupt if salaries are not increased regularly...

Foreigners would prefer their larger countries, with more freedom, and the ability to speak up and where they CAN retire when old.

Our gov is stupid... they losing locals yearly...and yet belieaves they can be replaced with foreigners...

They gonna learn it just like with casinos, F1, all the other turn-around policies right from the days of Stop at Two family planning.

Some day, the screw ups they make will become too large to sweep under their carpets....

They mentioned 12500 PR became local citizen in 2005 n so far one minister mentioned 150000 local have moved to other countries.

800 locals moved to other countries but they still want the remaining local to be friendly to the PR so to make them feel at home.

Foreigners are also humans, they can see what they want and what they don't want. They also have needs similar to ours. So be friendly lor...

Ultimately it is not us who will deter them from staying, it is the money-centered government that will drive them away themselves...

People have eyes and minds, they will see and wonder why are locals flocking off to other countries...

We should all now just mind our own business, either focus on surviving here and eventually vote them out, or work our way out of this place...let the gov turn this country into one huge Industrial Park island...

The govt is going to decrease subsidy for PR n they have two motives.
To encourage the PR to be citizen but if they claimed many PR become

citizen, can the govt give the actual figure how many PR become citizen compared to the no of local migrated to other countries.
If the no local migrating to other countries is more than the PR becoming citizen, this is a trouble for Spore already.

Probably they are really happy with more and more PRs coming here. May be they are happy to let those migrated people settle in other countries if these people are not pro ruling parties.
